Film: Orson Welles' F for Fake

F for Fake
F for Fake

The last film Orson Welles completed is the classic F for Fake, a.k.a. Nothing But the Truth. This highly personal film essay about real and fake, about fake biographies and forgery in art proved not to have lost any of it's merits. F for Fake is the playful masterpiece of a filmmaker who himself became renowned by his 'fake' radio documentary War of the Worlds, about an invasion by Martians, at the time (1938) resulting in thousands of people in de US taking to the streets.
