Valerie van Leersum en Gerco Aerts
Valerie van Leersum is a visual artist. Together with composer Gerco Aerts she built the interactive installation Anker Land (Anchor Land). They invite their audience to travel with them to Surinam, Morocco and Indonesia on the basis of some objects. They tell stories of a country left behind, a journey, of the future and desires, of family and traditions.

Books, records and the country left behind
An apparent pause in the theatre was the foyer. DJ Jairzinho played his records, writers signed their books. The Kotomisi Shop invited the audience to its livingroom of Surinamese cultures. Visual artist Valerie van Leersum and composer Gerco Aerts allowed the audience to travel to Surinam, Morocco and Indonesia in their interactive installation, listening to stories of a country left behind, future and desires, family and traditions.

An interactive journey
In search for a book by the writer you discovered tonight, sit and talk with other festival goers, or just recovering from it all. That's what the theatre's foyer was for. DJ Jan played music and writers signed their work in the bookshop. Visual artist Valerie van Leersum and composer Gerco Aerts built an interactive installation in the foyer.
