Dora Lauffer-Mathilda
(Aruba 1935) started to tell stories and write poetry at a young age. She performed for radio, and published her work. She also wrote for children in the magazine Chabalito. With the story 'Bruid di Sonrisa', she was awarded the first prize in the short story contest Conta mi un cuenta in 1981. In 2008 she published five religious poems in the collection Gotanan di Dios. The collection of short stories Un rat'i ora cu Tanta Dora (2011) holds almost fourty stories on traditional folklore of the island, and a number of poems.
