Dido Michielsen
(Amersfoort) is a journalist and writer. She wrote family oriented non-fiction books such as Dochters van ver: belevenissen van een adoptiemoeder (Daughters from afar: experiences of an adoptive mother); Uit elkaar, een leven na de scheiding (A Life after Separation), and the biography Moscow Times. The Russian adventure of Derk Sauer and Ellen Verbeek. Together with Auke Kok she wrote Lisa & Lin, vijf weken terug in China (Lisa & Lin, Back in China for Five Weeks, 2009) about the visit to the Chinese children's homes of their daughters. In 2019 she made her debut as a novelist with Lichter dan ik (Lighter than me), inspired by the life of her Javanese great-great-grandmother who managed to escape from the class society.
