Over de Writers Unlimited Podcast

Writers Unlimited complements its Winternachten international literature festival The Hague and its  Writers Series-programmes with podcasts made by, with or about writers and thinkers on current social issues with a link to books, reading or literature.

Thus, with author and philosopher Simon(e) van Saarloos, we made Asterisk Conversations with Nalo Hopkinson (US) and Tirsa With (NL), with Pamela Sneed (US) and Jolyn Phillips (SA) and with Claudia Rankine (US) and Rosabelle Illes (Aruba).

As part of their programmes for the Winternachten Festival 2022, JoÃ"lle Koorneef spoke with Japanese-American author Ruth Ozeki about the connections between meat and women (podcast: A Short Guide to Meat), and Meltem Halaceli with her mother Müfide Halaceli and with Bertil Emrah Oder, dean of law at Koç University in Istanbul about feminism, literature and the increasing pressure on women's rights (podcast: What will they say, Meltem?).

In collaboration with writers' collective Fixdit, which advocates for the visibility of women in literature, we made recordings for a live audience of the Fixdit podcast series Moderne klassiekers (Modern Classics), which highlights a literary classic written by a woman, with an audience in 2021 and 2022. These were Bibi Koetis voor altijd (Bibi Koetis Forever) by Lin Scholte and Val van de imam (The Fall of the Imam) by Nawal El Saadawi.
