TICKETS & FESTIVAL VISIT

The 29th Winternachten festival takes place Thursday 18 up to and including Sunday 21 Januari 2024 in The Hague. Below you'll find all the practical information about ticket sales and your festival visit.

BUY TICKETS ONLINE

  • EARLY BIRD PRICES UP TILL 26 DECEMBER for Friday Night Unlimited and Saturday Night Unlimited, the grand festival evenings in Theater aan het Spui and Filmhuis Den Haag.
  • REDUCED PRICES FOR EVERYONE UP TILL 30 YEARS for several festival events.

Push the red ticket buttons in the programme overview or on the upper part of the programme pages to buy your tickets fast and easy at the online box office of Het Nationale Theater for events in Theater aan het Spui or Koninklijke Schouwburg. For events at Paard or the (free) events in libraries or the Haagse Hogeschool you order tickets on their ticket platforms. After ordering your tickets, you receive them immediately by email. At the festival your ticket will be checked at the entrance. Show your ticket on your smartphone or bring a printed ticket. Tickets are not placed, except in de Koninklijke Schouwburg.

 

TICKET PRICES

Ticket prices vary per program. The prices can be found in the programme overview or at the top of each programme page.

Tickets for Friday Night Unlimited or Saturday Night Unlimited are valid for the evening in question. A ticket gives you access to all twenty or so programmes on five stages in Theater aan het Spui or Filmhuis Den Haag that evening. You choose your own route!

Early booking discount for Friday Night Unlimited and Saturday Night Unlimited: until 26 December 2023 you pay â'¬25, from 27 December â'¬30.

Everyone up to 30 years old gets 50% discount on the regular price of tickets for festival programmes at Theater aan het Spui or the Koninklijke Schouwburg.

Holders of a Ooievaarspas or DenHaagPas get a discount on festival programmes at Theater aan het Spui or the Koninklijke Schouwburg.

 

FREE ENTRANCE (NOTE: these programmes are Dutch spoken)

  • the festival programmes in the Nieuw Waldeck, Ypenburg and Schilderswijk public libraries: reservations recommended.
  • the festival programme in Laak (library Laakkwartier, Vadercentrum-ADAM and the VrouwenBuurtLab), reservations not required.
  • the festival programme in the Speakers' Corner of Haagse Hogeschool: reservations recommended.
  • the live radio broadcast of VPRO'S OVT on Sunday morning 21 January in Theater aan het Spui: reservations required.

 

LANGUAGE: Dutch or English?

Depending on which authors participate, the discussion language of festival programmes is Dutch or English. The spoken language can be found in the programme overview and on the individual programme pages.

At the festival programmes in Theater aan het Spui, Dutch and/or English translations of readings are projected simultaneously.

 

DRINKS

In Theater aan het Spui, the Koninklijke Schouwburg, Paard and Theater Dakota, the bar is open before and after the festival programmes for a hot or cold drink. Here, payment can only be made by pin.

 

FESTIVAL LOCATIONS

 

THEATER AAN HET SPUI

Theater aan het Spui, and the adjacent Filmhuis Den Haag, are best reached by bicycle or by public transport. If you arrive by car, mind city traffic and parking fees.

ACCESSIBILITY

Theater aan het Spui's entrance, lobby, cloakroom, toilets and auditoriums are accessible for persons with disabilities. Do have challenges when visiting the theatre? Contact the box office via 088-3565356 or service@hnt.nl. 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Leave the tram at the stops Centrum, Spui, Kalvermarkt-Stadhuis or Bierkade, or the bus at the stops Centrum or Nieuwe Haven.

From The Hague Central Station it takes a ten-minute walk to Theater aan het Spui, or travel one stop by tram 2, 3, 4, or 6. Leave at stop Spui.

From The Hague Hollands Spoor station it takes a fifteen-minute walk to Theater aan het Spui, or travel one stop with tram 1, 9 or 16. Leave at stop Bierkade.

BICYCLE

Park your bicycle for free in the guarded Biesieklette bicycle parking Stadhuis. This parking is open Mon-Fri 06:00-01:00 hours, Sat 08:00-01:00 hours, Sun 11:30-01:00 hours. Find the entrance on Spui next to the Public Library, just across the street from Theater aan het Spui.

CAR PARKING

The closest car parks are Q-Park Centrum and Interparking Stadhuis.
