Antilles tour 2012

In April Writers Unlimited had a writers tour to three Dutch Caribean islands: Aruba, Sint Maarten and Curaçao. David van Reybrouck (Belgium), Petinah Gappa (Zimbabwe), Helon Habila (Nigeria/U.S.A.) and Rodaan Al Galidi (Netherlands/Iraq) performed together with local authors. They presented their work in theaters, and in secondary schools.

For this tour we co-operated with the Philipsburg Jubilee Library in Sint Maarten, the FPI in Curaçao and the Biblioteca Nacional in Aruba. It is the 24th writers tour of Writers Unlimited, and the fifth tour to the Dutch Caribean since 2003.

All authors read from their work in their own language. The translations to the local languages (Papiamentu and English) were projected simultaneously. The theme of this tour was 'The Power of Memory'.
