(Malatya, Turkey1962) graduated from Hacettepe University Department of Turkology. For a while worked as a teacher and a broadcaster. Worked as producer-director at TRT (Turkish national radio and television), retired. Filmed various documentaries. His first short story was published in 1980 on the culture and art page of a newspaper. Has written books of short stories, novels, tales, essays, discourses. Has published books on researches on the nature of cinema and television.His books have been translated into various languages.Some of his books are : The Passenger that Decorates Cities, The Parrot that Hurt the Truth, Bird Hibernation, Nothing, Bricks with Secrets, In the Open, 40 Tales of Detainment and Others, The Traveller, Phoenix, Khayyam, Thing, Vefa Apartment, Suddenly, Dream Cinema
